Documentary Wedding Photography
Documentary Wedding Photography is about capturing the emotion and events of the day ‘fly on the wall’. Known as documentary or reportage wedding photography, my approach provides a large number of photographs from the day that tells the story of your day, producing images you will love.
From the bridal preparations in the morning, until the dancing at the end of the night, I capture the whole wedding in an unobtrusive documentary style. I believe weddings should be about the couple enjoying their day with friends and family, and not an endless number of posed shots.
My style is reportage, and I do not pose any subjects during the day, with the exception of a small number of group photos, and bride and groom portraits when required. Many other photographers describe their style as reportage, however a quick look though their work demonstrates this is not the case, the majority of images actually being posed. I am a proud member of the Wedding Photojournalistic Association, an international orginisation which only accepts true documentary wedding photographers. I am happy to share complete weddings to showcase my work, and demonstrate the images captured in a reportage style.
Each wedding is approached on an individual basis, a pre wedding consultation a few weeks before the big day provides me with a clear understanding of your timetable, and allows my to plan my shooting on the day. Many couples also chose to have a pre wedding shoot, a great way to learn how to relax infront of the camera, and get some great images before the big day.
Although the majority of the wedding day shots are reportage, I often take time out with the Bride and Groom to capture some intimate portraits. A small selection of group photographs are also usually requested as these are often in demand from family members! - A pre wedding consultation and venue visit if required
- Full Wedding day photography coverage (10 hours – typically from the Bridal preparation until 1st Dance)
After the Wedding day…
• A DVD video slideshow with a selection of images to music
• High resolution edited jpg images on DVD – no copyright restrictions (approx 300-400
images)
• Duplicates of all photos in low resolution for you to share on facebook and via email
• An online slideshow of edited images for you to share
