Jen and Andy
I first met Jen and Andy back in 2011 when they asked me to photograph their wedding. Wow, how time flies!, before we knew it their big day was upon us. Weddings have the uncanny knack of eating time…the months leading up to your wedding fly by, and the day itself is often over before you blink – which is why documenting your memories is so important :)
A glorious May morning saw me at the Grosvenor Pulford hotel in Cheshire, where Jen was getting ready for the big day. When I arrived, Jen was really relaxed, and looking forward to marrying her husband to be! I think a message received on her phone from Andy (a clip art photo of an aubergine – don’t ask!) helped
I headed to Christ Church in Port Sunlight where Andy and his two brothers, who were also his best men, were nervously waiting at the front of the aisle. Any signs of nerves disappeared from Andy’s face once he saw Jen with her Dad at the end of the aisle – I’m told Christ Church has the longest aisle in Merseyside – and Andy didn’t stop beaming as his bride to be walked towards him.
After the service, and a short walk around Port Sunlight, we all headed back to the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel in Cheshire. The fabulous weather ensured the drinks reception could be held outside by the lake – a stunning backdrop for the afternoon. First class speeches followed the wedding breakfast, and as the evening guests arrived for the continuing party, many of the adults took the opportunity to try the children’s games and activities on offer…with a subtle alcoholic twist to most of them
